In 2009 the Wavettes raised over £6,000 as part of the Cancer Research Relay For Life Campaign. The target for 2010 was £10.000 After numerous events detailed below:-

FUNDRAISING DETAILS OF YEARS EVENTS

RACE NIGHT

Friday 18th June

Relay For Life teams Hells Kitchen 2 and The Wavettes joined together to raise funds for Cancer Research at a Race Night at the Buchanhaven Hearts Social Club. The event was well attended and a great night was had by all.

Thanks to all who sponsored races and to those who bought any of the 1,575 horses sold prior to the event. Bottles will be delivered to the 197 winners soon.

Waves Radio 'Cancer Research' Fundraising

100 Hole Golf Challenge

On Friday 11th June, Michael Melvin and Paul Nicol gave themselves the challenge to complete 100 holes of golf in one day. This fund raiser consisted of playing the following courses:

Peterhead (10 holes)

Ellon (18 holes)

Longside (18 holes)

Fraerburgh (18 holes)

Inverallochy (18 holes)

Peterhead (18 holes)

The above challenge accumulated to 29700 yards with a par of 375, which all golfers will tell you was an extremely hard physical challenge. They started at 2.45am just before sunrise and completed the  challenge finishing at 10.15pm.

Total raised for the challenge £1,382.41

  Pub Crawl

On Saturday 24th April the Wavettes went to the pub in fact almost every pub in Peterhead. From 12.30pm till 12.30am. The team raised a grand total of

£732.59

Thanks to all the publicans for allowing the team into their premises and to all the customers who gave so generously.
