Cancer Research UK Relay For Life Peterhead
Bench & Plaque
Remember a loved one lost to cancer or celebrate the fact they are a survivor with a bench and plaque, priced at £100, which will be placed round the track at this year’s Cancer Research UK Relay For Life Peterhead. After the Relay, the benches will be stored for you and used each year. Saturday 28th May
Ellon fire station is opening its doors to the public for an open day. Running from 1.15pm – 4pm, this free event welcomes the local community to enjoy a selection of emergency services vehicles, practical demonstrations and community safety advice.
Oscars Out-of-School Club will hold a coffee morning at the Pavilion, Mintlaw from 10am – 12noon. It’s part of the group’s fundraising efforts.
1st Sandhaven Brownies will be holding a Cycle Run on exercies bikes at Tesco, Fraserburgh. They have been invited to the "Trooping of the Colour", the Queen's 90th Birthday Parade, in London on 11th June and are fundraising to ensure the trip goes ahead. An art exhibition hosted by the Ellon & District Art Group will be held at the towns Kirk Centre from 8am to 8pm on Friday 27th and on Saturday 28th from 8am to 4pm. Entry is free.

The Crichie Inn Stuartfield is hosting a charity event to help raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity this weekend in support of Irene Hendersons fundrasing. On Saturday there will be raffles and an auction with great prizes along with super entertainment. On Sunday there will be a disco from 2pm, plus Shindig and others, as well as a sponsored Waxathon. Local dog re-homing charity DAWGS is holding its annual 'day in the country' event at Haddo Country Park. Peterhead Engineers Development Ltd, Wellbank Business Park, Peterhead are holding an Open Night on Thursday 2nd June 2016 from 4.30 pm until 7 pm. Members of the public and employers interested in apprenticeships in Engineering and Administration are invited to come along to see the engineering workshops and administration suites where our trainees will be demonstrating their skills in engineering, administration and ECDL training. Staff will be on hand to answer queries and advise on basic Level 2 qualifications right through to the full Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship aswell as information regarding ECDL. Peterhead Old Parish Church and Peterhead Trinity are uniting to form Peterhead New Parish Church of Scotland. The service or union will take place at 7pm at the Trinity Parish Church, St Peters Street Peterhead. This will be followed by a service on Sunday the 12th at the New Parish Church in Peterhead.

It's not easy giving up a beloved dog. How do you know it's going to a good home? Local re-homing charity DAWGS - Dog Action Working Group Scotland - can help. Based in Aberdeen, DAWGS finds great new homes throughout the North East for dogs whose owners can no longer take care of them - and it's a simple and confidential procedure. We arrange to meet you, find about your dog and then put him on our website. There is a £ 5 registration fee. We always check all applicants, match for compatibility and even carry out home and checks to find the perfect, loving home. If possible we would ask you to keep your dog until we have found a match but we do have kennels for emergency situations. On 8th June, Kevin Porter, Graham Rattray, Douglas Christie and Russell Milne of Turriff and Rosehearty are taking part in the Benidorm Or Bust charity car rally driving an old banger 1800 miles from Gayson Motor Museum near Birmingham to Benidorm over four days. They are doing the trip, in kilts, for their nominated charities Friends of Turriff Hospital and CLAN Cancer. Any businesses sponsoring the team will receive free advertising on the car. There are 150 entries for the rally but only two from Scotland. Donations can be made by visiting their Facebook page, The Turra Coo Benidorm or Bust team which has a link to their Just Giving page.
The community social group in New Pitsligo is aimed at all ages, and hosts 'Claik and Cake' each Friday from 10am to 12pm in the St. John's Centre, High Street. Entry is by donations only for a cuppa and biscuit or cake.

Call for Volunteers! Peterhead Shopmobility are looking for volunteers to help lend wheelchairs, scooters and walking aids to members of the public with limited mobility enabling them to get out and about. The office is open from Monday – Saturday from 10.00am until 1.00pm; we are looking for volunteers to donate their time for these hours one day per week. Tear Drops support group meet at Cornerstone, 1 Skelton Street, Peterhead every second Thursday from 7 to 9pm (26th April 2016).
