Wear a Unity Band on World Cancer Day, 4th February. Now available from Waves Radio for a donation of £2.00. United, we can beat cancer sooner.

A group of students from Mintlaw Academy is once again offering free sessions teaching basic computer skills to older members of the community in Mintlaw Library. The sessions will run every Friday from 9.15 to 10.15 from the beginning of January.

To celebrate the launch of Artventure, a new community culture and arts group, a photography competition is being held in Peterhead with the winning entry being on permanent display in Buchan House. They are looking for photos of a building or boat, wildlife or people, landscape or seascape, artistic or historic. The closing date is 1st February 2017 with a shortlist of 10 images going to a public vote from 20th February and 10th March. Your digital image should be emailed to info@artventure.org.uk using wetransfer at wetransfer.com. The Fraserburgh Baptist Church in Victoria Street welcomes you to a new weekly community cafe (Cafe Emmaus) from 12 till 2pm then every following Monday afterwards.

Are you looking to help out your local community? Do you have some spare time? Dial-a-Community Bus are looking for volunteers for a variety of roles including car and bus drivers, passenger assistants, fundraisers, shopmobility assistants and board members. Grangepark Care Home in Peterhead are having a Burns supper at 6.30pm. There will be an evening of Poetry and Scottish Music. Tickets Are £6.50 and all funds go to the Grangepark comfort fund.

Friday 27th January

A charity quiz night by the RNLR will take place at the Harbour Lights Lounge, Peterhead at 7pm. Teams of 4 are £15 with all funds raised going to the Peterhead Lifeboat.

Fraserburgh Rugby Club meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30 – 8pm for fitness training which is open to men and women and is free of charge.  The sessions are held at James Ramsay Park.
