Crimond WRI will hold a prize bingo at the Crimond Hall from 7.30pm.  Entry is £1, which includes a cuppa tea. 

Thursday 23rd October

There's lots happening at the Grampian Transport Museum during the October holidays. Join in for a Halloween activity afternoon from 1 to 3.30pm with face painting and a magic show plus lots more. Entry is £9.50 for adults with 2 children admitted free with every adult. concessions are £7.50.

Friday 24th October

The New Pitsligo Hall presents The Daily Bread by Bad Apple Theatre Company from 7.30pm.  Expect a riotous night of clowning, comedy and live baking.  Tickets cost £9 and £7.  Call 01771 653720

Saturday 25th October

Connie's Christmas Fayre takes place in the Palace Hotel, Peterhead from 11am, with free entry. 

The St Fergus Seniors Club will hold a buttery morning in the village hall from 10am – 12noon.  There will be raffles, cake and produce stalls, with admission £3.  Tickets are available or you can pay at the door.

A buttery morning will be held at the Buchanhaven Heritage Centre in Peterhead from 10am – 12noon.  All the proceeds will go towards the Centre’s refurbishment fund. 

Old Parish Church Centre, Barrasgate Road, Fraserburgh Buttery Morning from 10.00am - 12 noon in aid of Guild Projests. Admission is £2.00 and all are welcome.

A buttery and pancake morning is being held in aid of Guide Dogs from 10am till 12noon in the Fraserburgh United Reformed Church Hall. 

 

Sunday 26th October

Connie's Christmas Fayre takes place in the Palace Hotel, Peterhead from 11am, with free entry. 

Strichen Playgroup are holding their annual Halloween hunt from 12noon to 2.00pm at the Strichen Lake. Lots of fun for all the family including a spooky hunt through the woods, fun dog show. fancy dress competition, scariest neep and pumpkin competition, various stalls, home bakes and raffles and much more. Competition starts at 12.15 pm and The First Minister Alex Salmond is their Special guest judge.

 

Wednesday 29th October

Fraserburgh Academy Parent Council are holding a Christmas Craft Fayre with lots of local stall holders attending the Fraserburgh Academy at 7pm. Entry is free.

The Peterhead Fisherman's Mission is holding a fashion show at the Waterside Inn from 7pm. Tickets cost £7.50 which includes refreshments. Call 01779 472940 for tickets.

Friday 31st October

The Fraserburgh branch of the Marie Curie Fundraising Group are holding their annual Quiz Night at the Ban Car Hotel, Lonmay from 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. £10 per table. Raffles and refreshments are available.

A Halloween Prize Bingo takes place in the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre from 7.30pm in aid of the Fraserburgh Lifeboat Station. 

Saturday 1st November

Charity Event in aid of Friends of Anchor, starring Target 5 supported by Marc Culley, in Fraserburgh Leisure Centre at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced at £10.00, can be purchased at the door or are available from various outlets including the Leisure Centre and Johnston Carmichael who are sponsoringthis event.

The League of Friends for Peterhead Hospital are holding a Tea Dance in the Palace Hotel from 2 to 5pm with dancing to Charlie Esson. Tickets cost £5 and are available from the Hospital shop, or pay at the door on the day.

Saturday 8th November

The Willowbank Christmas Sale will be held from 10am – 12noon at the Willowbank Day Service, Glendaveny, Peterhead.  Visitors will be able to enjoy tea/coffee, butteries, scones and cakes.  There will be various stalls and for further details call 01779 838301

Sunday 30th November

Ongoing Announcements

A Children’s Bible Club will be held at the York St Hall Monday to Friday from 10am – 12 noon for Primary School age children. The theme this year is based on a “sweet shop”. Children can make crafts, hear bible stories, sing choruses and win prizes. There will be a free bus pick-up and drop-off in Boddam and Peterhead. The League of Friends for Peterhead Hospital are looking for new volunteers to work in the Hospital to work in the Hospital shop. Interested? Call the shop on 01779 482434.

Teardrops is a voluntary group for those who find if difficult to cope after a loved one or best friend has died in tragic circumstances. They meet every Thursday in the Peterhead Community Centre from 7.00pm-9.00pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and have a cuppa and a chat. Lonmay Indoor Bowling Club is inviting bowlers, including beginners, to come along to the village hall every Tuesday at 7pm.  The cost is £2 per session and bowls will be available for use.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland are launching a new Outreach Communication Support Service in the North East to support people who have had a stroke, giving them company and confidence. The services will be available in Deeside, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Turriff, Inverurie, Stonehaven, Banff, Huntly and Aberdeen City. CLAN - Cancer Link Aberdeen North - offers support through its outreach facilties in Peterhead and Fraserburgh. They are in Fraserburgh at the HUB on a Monday from 10-4pm. Then in Peterhead on a Wedenesday and a Friday at the Hotspot on Kirk Street, Peterhead again from 10-4pm. This is a free service to everyone affected by cancer and provides emotional support, complementary therapies, children and family services and cancer information. Call Ruth on 07720 737500 for further information.

The Breastfeeding support group takes place at Peterhead Maternity Unit every Thursday from 1.30pm-3.00pm. This is an informal group/drop in where advice and support are given with many lifelong friendships made. Come along and enjoy the social aspects of the group. The midwives and breastfeeding volunteers extend a warm welcome.

There will be a weekly nightcap at the Fisherman's Mission on Union Street, Peterhead on Sunday at 8pm, as well as a weekly Ladies Guild every Tuesday from 7.15pm.

Choices Fraserburgh is a crisis pregnancy centre where women and their families can go to obtain free, impartial advice following an unplanned pregnancy. Advice and support is also offered following the loss of a baby.
