Trauma is not just about high profile disasters, it happens everyday to ordinary folk within our community. A pioneering Scottish-wide Sudden Trauma Information Service Helpline urgently needs your financial support to ensure that it can meet the steady increase in the number of calls received from those who experience the unexpected events of daily life, including road traffic collisions, iindustrial and domestic accidents, and assaults. Born out of the Piper Alpha tragedy, this unique and not-for-profit organisation charitable service was launched in Aberdeen 2006 by the former Beirut hostage, Terry Waite. Manned by trained and experienced responders, it provides an accessible and confidential source of accurate information and advice and ensures that those who require professional help are referred to the appropriate agencies depending on individual need. Additional funding in the region of £30,000 is now essential to keep the helpline afloat over the next year. To make your donation to this Scottish registered charity, please visit www.stish.org for further information
