Saturday 18th April

The Rotary Fraserburgh Charities Fund is holding a ‘Bothy Ballad Nicht’ in the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre from 7pm, featuring Hector Riddell, Bill Gray, Alan Taylor, Natalie Chalmers and many more north east musicians’. Tickets are available from the Leisure Centre, Maitlands and Rodgers Electrical.

A Soup & Sweet will be held at the Assembly of God, Queens Road, Fraserburgh between 12 and 2pm. Adults £4 and kids £2.50.

Strichen and Tyrie Parish Church Guild Coffee Morning with Sales Tables from 10 - 12 noon, in Strichen Church Hall. Admission  Adults : £2  Children : 50P. All very welcome.

Come along to the opening of the Bowling Green for 2015 at St. Marys Street, Peterhead at 2pm. Old and new members welcome.

Sunday 19th April

"Simple Faith", Gospel Group of the Year 2014, at AOG, Cairnbulg at 6.00pm. Entry is free and refreshments provided afterwards. All welcome.

Wednesday 22nd April

The Raymond Chuchuk Scottish Dance Band will be appearing at the Banff Accordion & Fiddle Club in the Banff Springs Hotel.

Friends of Bonnyton House Care Home in Ellon fundraising fashion show in the New Inn at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced at £8.00 which includes a glass of wine or soft drink and shortbread, are available from local shops or pay at the door.

Thursday 23rd April

A 'Rock N Roll' bingo night will be held at the Buchanhaven Hearts at 7 for a 7.30pm start. In aid of Cancer Research UK Relay For Life Peterhead. Admission is £3 or £2 for children aged primary 1-7 - includes teas.

Friday 24th April

A quiz night will be held at the Peterhead Golf Club for the Ladies Section from 7.30pm. Basket suppers will be available between 6 and 7.30pm. Entry is £10 per team of 4 or less.

Charity Stovie Dance in The Ravenswood Club, Banchory with music from Johnny Duncan. Tickets, priced at £7.00, are available at the Club and members and guests are most welcome.

Fraserburgh Lifeboat Fundraising Branch Quiz Night at Fraserburgh Royal British Legion at 7.30pm. Entry is £10 per team of four which includes refreshments. Entry forms are available from the Lifeboat Station or pay at the door.

Fundraising mediumship evening with Indigo Blue in the Clerkhill Inn, Peterhead at 7.00pm. Tickets, priced at £15.00, are available by calling 07521 419987 with proceeds going to Realy For Life Team "The Cure" and CLAN.

Saturday 25th April

The Buchanhaven Heritage Society Spring Fair from 10-4 with a selection of craft stalls, bouncy castle, face painting and much more. With a pirate theme, come and have your photo taken with Captain Cut Throat Cameron and one of his crew in Smugglers Cove. Entry is free but donations welcome to support the Centre's refurbishment programme.

A Daffodil Buttery Morning  will be hosted by the Lonmay Church for church funds in the Community Hall, St. Combs from 10am to 11.30am. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for primary school children.

Sunday 26th April

The Crimond Bowling Club will be open from 2pm. Old and new members welcome.

The Buchan vintage Tractor Charity Road run takes place in aid of Marie curie Cancer Care and the Summer Ward at the Peterhead Community Hospital. The run starts at 10am prompt, leaving from the Fetterangus Hall and traveling to Strichen, New Pitsligo, New Aberdour and arrives at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre for lunch. They will then take the Cairnbulg road to Lums Crossroad onto Riding Hill and back to Fetterangus. Contact Doug Nicol on 01771 623592 for further information.

Friday 1st May

A Quiz Night, hosted by the buchan Infdoor Bowling Club in Mintlaw will be held at 7.30am. Entry is £10 per team of 4. To book a table please call 01771 624494. Refreshments will be served. All proceeds will go to St. Drostan's Church in Old Deer.

Sunday 10th May

A charity fun day will be held at the Boddam Recreation Park. The organiser is appealing to anyone who owns a classic car or tractor so that they can bring theirs along to the event for free. A Charity Golf Open Tournament, hosted by the Fraserburgh fishermans Mission, will take place at the Inverallochy Golf Club. Entry £150 for a team of 3 and this includes meals. 01346 518388.

Friday 29th May

A 'Deal or No Deal' evening will take place in the Buchanhaven Heats Football Club Social club, followed by an auction and disco from 7.30pm. A buttery morning will be hosted by the Foundation Church (next to Waves Radio) from 10.30 am to 12 noon and followed by a soup and sandwich from 12 til l2pm. Proceeds will go to raise money for Relay For Life.

Ongoing Announcements

The Peterhead Health Centre will be operating a service for urgent problems only on Tuesday the 7th and Wednesday the 8th of April due to amajor computer upgrade. If you have a medical problem which cannot wait until normal service is resumed on Thursday the 9th of April call 01779 474841.

The Fraserburgh Heritage Centre re-opens for the season on the 1st of April at 11am. There are big changes inside and out, including a display of vintage bicycles, new research material and new shop stock. Admission charges apply for the exhibition area, with entry to the shop free.

Buchanhaven Heritage Centre would like to create an interior of a shop from the 50's similar to Chipper Elsie which once traded in the Buchanhaven area. The intention is to have a weekend display once ready in addition to a great event and to bring back memories to many. If anyone has items that would help stock a shop from that period please get in touch via heritage1850@btinternet.com or call 472872.

Martin Bagshaw from Peterhead will cycle to all Scottish Football League Grounds in July this year to raise money for the charity SANDS. A journey of 550 miles. This charity supports anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby before, during and shortly after birth. Please donate online through the ‘Just Giving’ page.

The family of 13 year old Elysha Robertson in Fraserburgh have set up a petition in a bid to secure lifesaving treatment for her. Elysha has been diagnosed with the rare condition BROWN-VIALETTO-VAN LAERE SYNDROME and requires 24 hour care, and the family want the health board to carry out Intravenous Immunoglobulin Therapy. The League of Friends for Peterhead Hospital are looking for new volunteers to work in the Hospital to work in the Hospital shop. Interested? Call the shop on 01779 482434.

Tear Drops Support Group meets at the Peterhead Community Centre from 7 to 9pm every 2nd Thursday (9/4/15 then 23/4/15 etc) . The group is for people who have lost a loved one and find it hard to cope. Please feel free to come along. Further details available from here.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland are launching a new Outreach Communication Support Service in the North East to support people who have had a stroke, giving them company and confidence. The services will be available in Deeside, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Turriff, Inverurie, Stonehaven, Banff, Huntly and Aberdeen City. CLAN - Cancer Link Aberdeen North - offers support through its outreach facilties in Peterhead and Fraserburgh. They are in Fraserburgh at the HUB on a Monday from 10-4pm. Then in Peterhead on a Wedenesday and a Friday at the Hotspot on Kirk Street, Peterhead again from 10-4pm. This is a free service to everyone affected by cancer and provides emotional support, complementary therapies, children and family services and cancer information. The Breastfeeding support group takes place at Peterhead Maternity Unit every Thursday from 1.30pm-3.00pm. This is an informal group/drop in where advice and support are given with many lifelong friendships made. Come along and enjoy the social aspects of the group. The midwives and breastfeeding volunteers extend a warm welcome.

There will be a weekly nightcap at the Fisherman's Mission on Union Street, Peterhead on Sunday at 8pm, as well as a weekly Ladies Guild every Tuesday from 7.15pm.

Choices Fraserburgh is a crisis pregnancy centre where women and their families can go to obtain free, impartial advice following an unplanned pregnancy. Advice and support is also offered following the loss of a baby.
