The Wavettes  Annual Christmas Disco held in the Masons, Peterhead on Saturday 13th December raised £1,800

All proceeds to Cancer Research UK Relay For Life Peterhead.

Friday 30th January

Paula MacAskill will be appearing at the Leisure Centre, Fraserburgh from 9pm - midnight.  For tickets priced at £8 please call Peter Banks on 01346 378576.  All profits to cancer Research and Aberdeen  Sick Childrens Hospital.

The RNLI are holding a Quiz Night in the Harbour Lights Lounge Bar in aid of the Peterhead lifeboat at 7pm. Entry £15 per team of 4 inclusive of stovies. Cash prizes to be won.

A Quiz Night will be held at the Clansman, Seaforth Street, Fraserburgh in aid of the Fraserburgh Cricket Club from 7pm. Entry £10 per team of 4.

A Prize Bingo evening will take place at the Old Kirk, Barasgate Road, Fraserburgh from 7.30pm. All proceeds to go to the Church Centre funds.

Indigo Blue Psychic Medium will be appearing at The Buchanhaven Hearts Social Club at 7.00pm with part of the proceeds going to CLAN. Tickets, prices at £15, are available by calling Coreen on 07713 056530 or the club on 471064.

Saturday 31st January

A Haggis, Mince, Neeps & Tatties nicht will be held from 7pm at the Fraserburgh Royal British Legion. Tickets cost £12.00 for an adult and under 16s are £6.00 and are available from the Fraserburgh Lifeboat Station or the Fraserburgh Royal British Legion.

A Buttery Morning, in aid of PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) in St Peter's Episcopal Church, Charlotte Street, Fraserburgh from 10.00am-11.30am. Entry is £1.50.

Monday 2nd February

Following the success of the Buchanhaven Heritage "Dickensian Choir" a new team have stepped forward to keep it going as a Community Choir. They plan to start on the 2nd February between 5:45-6:45 and every Monday thereafter, so if folk are keen to join in please head down to the Buchanhaven Heritage Centre and ask for Lauren. All abilities welcome, with the social part being the most important part of an enjoyable evening

Saturday 7th February

The fire station in Peterhead are holding a ‘crash live’ event at the Peterhead Fire Station at 2pm. There will be a presentation, followed by a demonstration of the actions and response to a serious road traffic collision by the emergency services and there’s also free advice of the correct fitting of child seats

Monday 9th February

The Peterhead Sea Cadets are having a Bingo Tea at The Creel in Peterhead. Doors open from 6.30pm with eyes down at 7pm. Admission is £1.50 with tea and a fine piece. Usual raffles and prizes. Funds raised will go towards the roof replacement.

 

Wednesday 11th February

The League of Friends are holding a valentines tea dance at the Palace Hotel from 2 till 5pm with dancing to Charlie Esson. Tickets cost £5 each.

Sunday 15th February

Ongoing Announcements

The family of 13 year old Elysha Robertson in Fraserburgh have set up a petition in a bid to secure lifesaving treatment for her. Elysha has been diagnosed with the rare condition BROWN-VIALETTO-VAN LAERE SYNDROME and requires 24 hour care, and the family want the health board to carry out Intravenous Immunoglobulin Therapy. Scout Leader Martin Brownlie in Mintlaw is looking for adult help to continue the scout movement in the Mintlaw area. At the moment boys and girls in the area are missing out on activities such as camping, cooking and star gazing to name but a few. Can you help in any way? The League of Friends for Peterhead Hospital are looking for new volunteers to work in the Hospital to work in the Hospital shop. Interested? Call the shop on 01779 482434.

Teardrops is a voluntary group for those who find if difficult to cope after a loved one or best friend has died in tragic circumstances. They meet every Thursday in the Peterhead Community Centre from 7.00pm-9.00pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and have a cuppa and a chat. Lonmay Indoor Bowling Club is inviting bowlers, including beginners, to come along to the village hall every Tuesday at 7pm.  The cost is £2 per session and bowls will be available for use.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland are launching a new Outreach Communication Support Service in the North East to support people who have had a stroke, giving them company and confidence. The services will be available in Deeside, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Turriff, Inverurie, Stonehaven, Banff, Huntly and Aberdeen City. CLAN - Cancer Link Aberdeen North - offers support through its outreach facilties in Peterhead and Fraserburgh. They are in Fraserburgh at the HUB on a Monday from 10-4pm. Then in Peterhead on a Wedenesday and a Friday at the Hotspot on Kirk Street, Peterhead again from 10-4pm. This is a free service to everyone affected by cancer and provides emotional support, complementary therapies, children and family services and cancer information. The Breastfeeding support group takes place at Peterhead Maternity Unit every Thursday from 1.30pm-3.00pm. This is an informal group/drop in where advice and support are given with many lifelong friendships made. Come along and enjoy the social aspects of the group. The midwives and breastfeeding volunteers extend a warm welcome.

There will be a weekly nightcap at the Fisherman's Mission on Union Street, Peterhead on Sunday at 8pm, as well as a weekly Ladies Guild every Tuesday from 7.15pm.

Choices Fraserburgh is a crisis pregnancy centre where women and their families can go to obtain free, impartial advice following an unplanned pregnancy. Advice and support is also offered following the loss of a baby.
