On 8th June, Kevin Porter, Graham Rattray, Douglas Christie and Russell Milne of Turriff and Rosehearty are taking part in the Benidorm Or Bust charity car rally driving an old banger 1800 miles from Gayson Motor Museum near Birmingham to Benidorm over four days. They are doing the trip, in kilts, for their nominated charities Friends of Turriff Hospital and CLAN Cancer. Any businesses sponsoring the team will receive free advertising on the car. There are 150 entries for the rally but only two from Scotland. Donations can be made by visiting their Facebook page, The Turra Coo Benidorm or Bust team which has a link to their Just Giving page.

Age Peterhead, a long established local charity delivering important support services to older people in Peterhead and the surrounding district, require two trustees to help continue managing and organising the services. Saturday 30th April
May Day weekend at the Mormond Inn, Strichen. Live music from Raw Stereo from 9.30pm - 12.45am. Entry is free.
A soup and sweet will be held at the Assemblies of God Church in Fraserburgh from 12 to 2pm.
The Haddo House Classic and Custom Motorbike Show takes place from 11am to 4pm (also on Sunday 1st May). There are also displays from Jim Hay, Bike Smart and ESK Motorcycles. Tickets are £3 for adults and £2 for children and are avaialble at the door. Come along and enjoy one of the first motorbike events of the season.
The Peterhead Old Parish Church is holding a buttery morning in the Old Parish Centre from 10am to 12pm. Entry £2. See 'The Three Tanners' sing at 10.15 and 11am. All proceeds to Fishermans Mission.
A Charity Tea Party, in celebration and memory of Bob Butler, is to be held in the Fetterangus Village Small Hall with all proceeds going to liver research and kidney dialysis ward Aberdeen. Admission is £4 for adults and £2 for concessions & children. Anyone who would like to donate towards the raffle or volunteer to help on the day should call 01771 623867.
A buttery morning in aid of the RNLI will be held at the United Reformed Church in Fraserburgh from 9.30am till noon. Entry is £2.50 for an adult and £1 for a child.
Sunday 1st May
An ex-Highland League "Toonsers" select will take on a "Teuchters" select in a fun charity match at North Lodge Park, Pitmedden at 2.00pm. It will be a fun day out for all the family with face painting and bouncy castle. All proceeds to Maggie's Caring Centres. Donations accepted on the day.
May Day weekend at the Mormond Inn, Strichen. May Day bash from 1.00pm in the beer garden with bouncy castles, face painting, live bands and much more. Kids wristbands are £5.00 which includes all day access to the inflatables, juice and crisps. Duck Race down The Ugie at 3.00pm. Ducks, priced at £2.00, are available from the pub. Funds raised will go to Strichen Playgroup and Mormond Thistle Kids Football Team.
Monday 2nd May
May day weekend at the Mormond Inn, Strichen. Jam session with Stewart Whyte from Shindig in the afternoon. Come along to listen or join in. Bouncy castles will still be in the garden for the children.
Peterhead Boxing Club sessions commence at Building 7, Buchan Braes Campus, Gordon Avenue, Boddam. Under 10's sessions - Tues & Thurs 6.15pm-7.00pm, Womens sessions - Mon & Wed 6.00pm-7.00pm and over 10's/adults - Technical Training & Sparring Mon & Wed 7.30pm - 9.00pm and Sun 11.00am -12.30pm and Boxing Training - Tues & Thurs 7.30pm - 9.00pm and extra Training Session on Sat 11.00am - 12.30pm.
A hustings meeting will take place in the New Deer public hall at 7.30pm. The four candidates standing in the East Aberdeenshire constituency have been invited to participate in a 'question time' style debate with audience participation.

They have been invited to the "Trooping of the Colour", the Queen's 90th Birthday Parade, in London on 11th June and are fundraising to ensure the trip goes ahead. Peterhead Sea Cadets "Quiz Night" in the Highlander Lounge, Wilson Street at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start raising funds for boating equipment. Entry is £10 per team of four.
The annual Inverallochy 'Cotton Walk' buttery morning is being held from 10am to 12pm in the Assemly of God church hall, Rathen Road, Cairnbulg.
3 girls from Peterhead Academy, who are going to China as part of the world challenge in 2017, will be holding a soup and sweet in the Apex Church Hall in Peterhead from 12 to 2pm. Entry is £4 for adults and £2.50 for kids.
Sunday 8th May
The annual Wavettes & Relay Committee 4 Ball Better Ball Golf Tournament at Peterhead Golf Course. Entry is £40 per team of four which can be mixed with a maximum of two juniors. Sponsorship opportunities available from £50 for nearest the hole and longest drive and £100 for individual holes. All proceeds to Cancer Research UK Relay For Life, Peterhead. The annual Blue Light Festival at Fraserburgh Leisure Centre from 12.30pm - 4.00pm with lots of activities and demonstrations outside. Inside the centre, there will be charity stalls and entertainment by local groups. Entry is free but a donation to charity would be welcome.

The Fraserburgh casualty department is holding a dinner dance at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre with dancing to Shindig. Proceeds go to Faithlie Care home and SANDS charity.

The community social group in New Pitsligo is aimed at all ages, and hosts 'Claik and Cake' each Friday from 10am to 12pm in the St. John's Centre, High Street. Entry is by donations only for a cuppa and biscuit or cake.

Call for Volunteers! Peterhead Shopmobility are looking for volunteers to help lend wheelchairs, scooters and walking aids to members of the public with limited mobility enabling them to get out and about. The office is open from Monday – Saturday from 10.00am until 1.00pm; we are looking for volunteers to donate their time for these hours one day per week. Tear Drops support group are meeting at Cornerstone, 1 Skelton Street, Peterhead every second Thursday from 7 to 9pm (12th April 2016). This is a chance for anyone who finds it difficult to cope with the death of thier loved ones to meet with others over a cup of tea. See thier Facebook page for more detais.
