Thursday 3rd September

St Drostan’s Episcopal Church in Old Deer will hold the 2015 annual lecture, Scattered under the Rising Sun – the Gordon Highlanders in the Far East 1941 – 45 by Stewart Mitchell.  This talk will take place in the Church at 7.30pm.  No admission fee but a collection for church funds will be taken.  There will also be refreshments afterwards in the Kemp Hall.

Friday 4th September

Mediumship Night with Indigo Blue at Fraerburgh Leisure Centre at 7.00pm to raise money for Women's Aid & Domestic Abuse and the Early Pregnancy Unit in Aberdeen. Tickets available from the Leisure Centre or by calling Coreen on 07713 056530.

Saturday 5th September

Peterhead SNP will host an Autumn Fair and Soup & Sweet in Longhaven Public Hall from 10am – 1.30pm.  Stalls include gifts, cards, knitwear, jams and chutneys.  To book a stall, contact 01779 473557.

Sunday 6th September

A Charity Golf Open Tournament will take place at the Fraserburgh Golf Club with all proceeds to the Rotary Club of Fraserburgh Charity Projects. Book a tee time by calling 01346 516616. Members entry £10, non-members £15 and juniors £5. This 18 hole Stableford competition is open to all.

The Grampian Motorcycle Convention at Grampian Transport Museum in Alford from 11.00am - 5.00pm. Four times World Superbike Champion, Carl Fogarty is this year's special guest plus great entertainment from The On Edge Stunt Team, Supermotos, Pursuits, Classic Bike Parade and Moped Mayhem.

Wednesday 9th September

The 12th Fraserburgh Wedding Exhibition at The Leisure Centre from 6.00pm - 9.00pm with a Fashion Show mid evening. Admission is £5.00 with under 12's free. Further details available from Ashleigh on 01346 516663.

Saturday 12th September

Charity Golf Day at Inverallochy Golf Club in aid of Motor Neurone Disease hosted by George, Douglas, Martin & Philip Hastie in memory of Joan Hastie. They will also be selling raffles and lucky squares in Tesco, Fraserburgh on Friday 11th September. There is also a silent auction with 20 great prizes on offer. For further informaton, call Douglas on 07411 617133. Over £20,000 was raised at last year's event.

Fraserburgh Old Parish Church Prize Bingo in the Church Centre Hall, Barrasgate Road at 7.30pm. Entry is £2.00 which includes refreshments and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

The League Of Friends for Peterhead Hospitals Prize Bingo at The Palace Hotel  at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £1.50 or pay at the door.

"Experiences" Peterhead & District Cancer Support Group welcomes everyone affected by cancer to meetings held every second Wednesday of the month at The Albert Hotel, Queen Street, Peterhead. Lifts can be arranged to the meetings. Call Kathleen on 01779 477693 or Frances on 475936.

Keith Kelman is to undertake a 105 mile run, cycle and kayak trip from coast to coast in September to raise funds for children with cancer. Visit www.just giving.com/keith-kelman for information and to donate.

A local couple have launched a fundraising drive to ease the suffering of their five year old pet, Big Bill, who is receiving treatment from Noel Fitzpatricks Vet Surgery (Supervet). The dog is suffering from arthritis in all of his legs, a torn knee ligament and also hip growth. Vets bills will see the cost rise to more than £14k. They hope to raise £5k to help cover cost. Don't forget that Maggie's Hoosie in Inverallochy is open right through to Mid-September, offering an insight into the life in a traditional fisher cottage. Open Monday to Thursday, 2-4pm. Call 01346 514761 for further details. Entry is £2 for adults and free for children.

Fraserburgh Rugby Club meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30 – 8pm for fitness training which is open to men and women and is free of charge.  The sessions are held at James Ramsay Park.
