and much much more

The man who started it all and made the dream a reality. From organising nine Restricted Service broadcasts to planning the full service Kenny as he did in the early days gets the North East up and at it in the morning with the Brekky Thing. At the weekends he takes a nostalgic trip back to the sixties and remembers the songs that were played on the Offshore stations of the time.

Greatest Influence on Career

Johnnie Walker and his August 14th broadcast on Radio Caroline when the station went illegal due to the Marine Offences Bill in 1967.

Ambitions

To meet Johnnie Walker and to have Rod Stewart sing live on a special "Rod on The Radio " spot on the Brekky Thing

Improve Waves Radio's service as much as possible.

Music Taste

Love it all from the Beatles, Roy Orbison,Motown, Atlantic Soul, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Rod to name but a few.It is varied and also includes Vera Lynn.Like a lot of the new bands as introduced to by Mitch Bain who keeps me up to date as to who to listen out for..

Previous Employment

Includes 23 years in the oil industry which at the start was great. The pioneering days of the North Sea development.

Thanks for your Votes

Over a period of a few months Merry Media moved from region to region across the UK to find the best Breakfast and Drivetime shows on the radio and Kenny King's Brekky Thing came third in the North of Scotland Section.

Only 1 vote seperated the second and third positions.Top two positions went to stations in Dundee.

Votes came from within the radio industry as well as businesses and listeners. We are delighted as no mention of this poll was given on air,on website or any other medium.

On a very rare occasion Kenny King takes time out to meet the lads in London.
